My name is Amaya Arana. I have been living in Jersey since 2005, when I moved over with my family from Spain. I have also lived in Mexico and Brazil.
I started my career as a Social Worker in Spain, where I also studied my Master in Family Therapy.
I am a registered Social Worker in UK (HCPC) and Spain and I’m a member of the UK Association of Family Therapy (AFT).
I started practicing as a family therapist in Spain. I have always looked to learn new ways of helping couples and families and in 2009 I discovered the work of Sue Johnson, one of the creators of Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT).
Unlike other approaches to Family Therapy, EFT offers an approach that really help couples to deal with their conflicts and crisis and improve their relationships. It allows the therapist to guide the couple and proposes actions.
“Research studies find that through EFT 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and approximately 90% show significant improvement”
I was so excited about this discovery that I trained in EFT and I have become a register EFT Therapist.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss how best I can help you in your relationship with your partner or your family.
